Let’s get personal–here’s a bit about me:

Hi! My name is Helena. I originally come from Phoenix, Arizona, USA, and currently live in Sweden. I’m a native of the Phoenix desert and have traded my tank-tops and flip-flops for down jackets and snow boots, and thus far, I’m enjoying the changes and the lagom that moving to Sweden has brought. As of November 2019, I am a proud dual American / Swedish citizen!

Professionally speaking, I am an enthusiastic project coordinator with experience in content and copywriting, community management, event management, marketing and PR, as well as education. My leadership style is democratic and decisive. I am committed to a wide variety of social causes and appreciate occasions when my professional work can help the world in some way.

My time as a working adult has been full of many avenues and adventures. I’ve been (in alphabetical order): an artistic director, a bartender, a community manager, a copywriter, a customer support manager, an engagement manager, an event planner, an independent contractor, a market manager, an office manager, a preschool teacher, and a tutor and adult-learning educator. I’ve worked for small companies and large, in the non-profit and private sectors. I also consider myself an artist, a digital media maven, a writer, and a do-gooder.

I’ve worked with some swell clients and I’m grateful to have some stellar testimonials from fantastic colleagues and work associates. I’ve been honored by media outlets in Phoenix with a few awards and accolades for some of the things I accomplished while living there, and I hope to continue my do-gooding ways everywhere I go.

On a personal level, I dig creating art and finding treasures to customize and DIY in secondhand shops and at the various loppisar I visit with my friends. I love to read and listen to music and podcasts, am passionate about traveling, enjoy enthusiastically singing karaoke, binge-watching tv shows, playing retro video games, and going to the movies. I am a nerdy pop culture enthusiast. I like participating in activities and causes that help make the world a better place. Most of all, I appreciate spending time with my spouse and our dogs, Elliott, Elton, and Ida.
